Peak Flow

Peak Flow

Peak Expiratory flow rate is ta mesurent ot the ight rate at which air is exhaled from the lungs through the mouth.

It is recommended that Peak Flow readings are taken morning and evening pre and 30 minutes post nebuliser/inhalers.

  1. Explain the proceduretothepatient and obtain constient to enusr that the patient undertsadns and has the information to make a valid conscent.
  2. Establish patient's current and best or predicted peak flow to provide a benchmark and make a comparison.
  3. Wash and dry hands to minimize cross infection.
  4. Collect and assemble
